Dear blog,
apparently I have lost your address. I've look through the piles and piles of laundry, rummaged through the endless trail of toys with missing batteries. I have checked below the dust on the dresser, and under the beds near the dustbunnies. Somehow you have been neglected, forgotten.... left for bust, much like the broken tricycle in the garage.
meanwhile, three monkeys have invaded our home.
The littlest one has the loudest screech. And, while clearly still a monkey - his sound is not unlike the one the middle monkey used to make -- the one we used to call pterodactyl. So, dinosaur monkeys are running like wild. precious, beautiful, crazy things who throw toys, roll over folded clothes, change clothes 20 times a day, hide everything under their beds, take out a clean dishtowel after every bite to wipe their sweet, messy faces (all by themselves).
this monkey is nearly toothless these days. he is funny, yet sensitive. two weeks shy of six years now.
and here is our middle one. he still does screech, too. daily, though, more and more of the screeches are being replaced by words. we owe a lot of his improvements to prayer and a major diet change for him. he is the wildest of the bunch.
the littlest one here with his cousin, Ryan... still an easy-breezy wee one. a loud, easy-breezy wee one. but, perfect in every way a baby should be.
these three creatures have me spinning circles day in and day out. sometimes, spinning circles in dance. sometimes, spinning around - disoriented from the chaos, and sometimes, just spinning because spinning is fun.
since we haven't been in contact for nearly two months, you should know that somehow, in the past few weeks, someone has snuck into our home and shrunk every monkey's clothes. suddenly, I am seeing ankles sticking out from pant legs, and wrists peeking out from long-sleeved shirts. do you know who has done this? I've heard that these monkeys keep growing, but man! it seems to be happening overnight.
... and, in case you are wondering, I have yet to take a decent picture of them all together. seems like they all have their own agenda at all times. do you have any idea when this might change? I am waiting patiently for the perfect moment... yet feel that it is no time soon for certain. we are happy and sad, angry, mad and goofy all at once, and at every different moment of the day (and night).
well, blog, this should catch you up for now. No doubt I will misplace your address again. I mean, really, it's not like they are suddenly going to all sleep at once, or sit quietly, or stay neat and clean... or for that matter stay dressed at all. but, for now we are embracing the chaos. trying our best to enjoy these sweet moments of constant crazy, knowing that all too soon the monkeys will grow into men.
love.these.boys.
distracted,
christina
LOVE the picture of you with your boys! btw- I have your birthday present (finally!) but think I am going to hold it hostage rather than mailing it so that you will have to stop by here when you are here in a few! :) (and what does Alex want for his bday? Or what is he into?!) Oh- and I finally posted on my rather neglected website a few of the pictures I snapped when we watched Luke- or I should say when Paige watched Luke! :) MISS you!

So happy you found your blog's address! ;) Luke is just too precious. How cute is that little monkey?!?! Your other two monkeys are looking more and more grown...I know it's causing your heart to skip a few beats. Neglect your blog all you want (I am these days!), and enjoy your moments!

Oh Christina! Your blog as well as your three (!) boys are gorgeous!!! I love the pictures of them, especially the one of you smiling and the three of them at odds in their emotions! I have 2 large monkeys of my own, one in high school and one entering middle school next year (pray for me)! Thanks for sharing and I look forward to your next blog!
